About Kai (Tzu-Kai) Lo

Tzu-Kai obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in 2002 and Juris Doctor in 2005 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Tzu-Kai was the first Taiwanese law scholar to be admitted into the Juris Doctor program at the University of Illinois.

Tzu-Kai concentrates his immigration law practices on a great variety of areas in employment based petitions. He has successfully obtained approvals of various employment related visas, specifically B-1, E-1, E-2, E-3, H-1B, L-1A, L-1B and TN, for his corporate and private clients. He also represents employers in their permanent labor certification applications (PERM), Department of Labor Audits, and BALCA Appeals, and assists foreign nationals to adjust their status to that of a permanent resident under the EB-1, EB-2 and EB-3 preference.

In addition, Tzu-Kai has successfully responded to the USCIS Service Centers' Request for Evidence (RFE), Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID), and Notice of Intent to Revoke (NOIR), and further convinced the Service Centers to approve or reaffirm the underlying visa petitions.

Because of his fluency in Chinese, Taiwanese and English, Tzu-Kai has been retained to translate official legal documents into and from Chinese, and often serves as a contemporaneous translator in both legal and informal proceedings.

Tzu-Kai is admitted to the Supreme Court of Illinois and U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyer Association (AILA) and currently serves as Co-Chair of Illinois Department of Employment Security and Department of Labor Liaison of the Chicago Chapter of AILA.

Tzu-Kai was selected for inclusion on the 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 Illinois Rising Stars list, which features outstanding young lawyers in the State of Illinois.
