Angela P. Vela Ramirez
Angela Vela Law, LLC
My practice focuses on assisting Hispanic clients in Georgia, with their civil legal needs, primarily in family law. I provide à la carte representation, in other words, limited scope work, at affordable prices. This means that you hire me to complete specific parts of your lawsuit; that way you can do what you feel comfortable with on your own and pay only for the help that you need.
As an immigrant to the United States, I understand the needs of the Hispanic community. I was born in Bogotá, Colombia and have also lived in Canada, France, and throughout the United States. Spanish is my native language and I am also fluent in French.
I have a bachelors degree in Psychology and French from Grinnell College, in Iowa, and an MBA with a concentration in Human Resources Management from Georgia State University. My law degree is from Georgia State University, where I graduated cum laude.
I am a member of the State Bar of Georgia, and The Cobb Bar Associations. I am licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia.
Before starting my own law practice, I worked as a Staff Attorney at Atlanta Legal Aid Society's office in Marietta, Georgia. While there, I provided civil legal assistance to low-income clients and performed outreach to the Hispanic community in Cobb County.
Prior to working at Legal Aid, I interned at the Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network (GAIN) and The Coca-Cola Company. I also worked at Illien Adoptions International, The Center for Ethics and Corporate Responsibility at Georgia State University, and WFD Consulting, in Boston, in addition to being a Spanish and French teacher in New Hampshire for four years.
